“The bill would allow for the creation of a Gun Violence Restraining Order system that would set up procedures to allow families to ask their local courts to prevent a loved one from possessing a firearm. If the court finds that the individual poses a significant risk of injury to themselves or others, a gun violence prevention order would temporarily prohibit them from obtaining a firearm.”
